Accessibility
On the 1st October 2004, website owners were required by law to have made reasonable adjustments to ensure their sites are not unreasonably difficult for a disabled or visually impaired person to use. KC3.net are leaders in the field of accessible website design having delivered many sites which are accessible by all. Accessible design is built into our in-house design standards.
KC3.net are experienced in building accessible internet solutions to the following standards:
To help our clients maintain their sites whilst complying with these regulations we have developed an Accessible Content Management System, acms. This system is used by both Public and Private Sector clients. Since it is the website owners' legal responsibility to make sure that their website STAYS accessible as they keep it updated - acms (Accessible Content Management System) - developed by KC3.net checks all content for accessibility as it is added to a website.
All of KC3.net's websites developed since these laws came into place, are W3C compliant. W3C compliance comes in three levels:
- Level A - mimimum required by law
- Level AA - more extensive and generally favoured by the public sector and large organisations
- Level AAA - most extensive level of compliance. Favoured by orgainisations having a large proportion of disabled/visually impaired users.
