Our History
KC3.net was formed in November 2006 from our originating company "KC3". Our overall experience extends back to 1993 when KC3 (Kington Connected Community Company) began.
On 1993 tremendous local and national interest was generated by the concept of the company being set up as a Social Enterprise. Under the auspices of a highly professional array of Board Members the company was formally launched. Many people within the local community became company members and an online centre was duly opened for public access.
In 2001 Nick Harris, a highly experienced ex IBM Senior Project Manager, was appointed Chief Executive and initiated an enhancement of the company's facilities and procedures. Great advances were made in the fields of eGovernment, eCommerce and Accessible Content Management and KC3 scored notable success with organisations such as DEFRA. The client portfolio grew into an impressively wide ranging list covering both public and private sector companies. In 2005 KC3 earned the prestigious Regional Partner of the Year Award by Actinic, one of the leading providers of eCommerce software as an acknowledgement of KC3's leading position in the Midlands region.
In October 2006 the Board of Directors made the decision to split KC3 into two companies. This decision was taken to better focus the two key service delivery sectors of Community Training & Internet Service Provision (provided by KC3) and Project & Product Development (now provided by KC3.net). Setting up KC3.net also allowed us the opportunity to invest in further development of our flagship Accessible Content Management System acms.
In November 2006 KC3.net was formally established as a company owned by its employees. In further developments KC3.net absorbed the ISP element of KC3's business in April 2007 securing our position as Herefordshire's premier 'One Stop Shop' for Internet Solutions and eBusiness Strategy.
