The ICT Excellence Awards recognise and reward the best and brightest SME technology companies and organisations in the West Midlands. The entries will be judged by an independent panel of highly respected individuals as the awards enter their fourth year. The winners will be announced at an Awards Reception at the ICT Annual Conference on 20th November 2008 at the National Motorcycle Museum in Bickenhill, Solihull.
KC3.net has been nominated for the following categories:
- Best Added Value Product - To recognise the added value that the addition of ATAG* compliance to our acms product range of content management systems will provide for our clients and end users. ATAG compliance has been built in to the user interface of our acms system to make it possible for those using accessible technology, such as screen readers, to update their corporate websites. The new functionality has been successfully tested with blind users who have been able quickly "get to grips" with using the acms system, with their screen readers, and with no initial training. This work has been carried out in partnership with Aston University as a part of a knowledge transfer partnership.
*Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines.
- Best Knowledge Transfer - To highlight the many benefits realised by our recent Knowledge Transfer Partnership with Aston University including Aston MSc student, Stuart Leworthy, who has successfully worked with KC3.net to increase the accessibility (ATAG compliance) of our acms product range and in the process gained valuable commercial experience.
- Most Improved Business - to highlight KC3.net's massive improvement and performance to its ambitious business plan over the past year. Key highlights include our recent achievement of the AccredIT UK quality standard for the Software Design and Development segment, achievement of Government Gateway Alliance Provider approval and an 87% increase in sales.
